Molybdenum

Molybdenum products are important in the missile industry, where it is used for high-temperature structural parts, such as nozzles, leading edges of control surfaces, support vanes, struts, reentry cones, heal-radiation shields, heat sinks, turbine wheels, and pumps.
Molybdenum products have also been useful in the nuclear, chemical, glass, and metallizing industries. Service temperatures, for molybdenum alloys in structural applications arc, are limited to a maximum of about 1650'C (3000'F). Pure molybdenum has good resistance to hydrochloric acid and is used for acid service in chemical process industries.

Molybdenum material
Molybdenum material are used in the following industries: glass melting, vacuum furnace, vacuum deposition, aerospace, solar, nuclear, electronics, automotive, and medical.
We carry molybdenum in wire, rod, sheet, and plate. We also sellmolybdenum nuts, bolts, heat shields, and other hardware for vacuumfurnace and high vacuum environments.
Molybdenum sheet
Material from .005 inches to .090 inches in thickness is classified as molybdenum sheet. It is used for fabrication of sintering boats, high temperature furnace heating elements and heat shields. Standard availability is described below. Other sizes and tolerances are available.
Molybdenum plate
Material from .090 inches to 3 inches in thickness is classified as molybdenum plate. It is widely used in the construction of furnace tooling and parts and as a feed stock for the fabrication of parts for the electronics and semiconductor industries. Standard availability is described below.
Molybdenum rod
1, Diameter: 1.0-100.0mm
2, Length: 50-2000mm
3, Density: 10.15g/cm3
4, Purity>=99.95%, 99.98% can also be achieved if special demanded.
5, Surface: Sintering surface, Forged surface, Ground surface
6, Applications: Used for making electric vacuum device and electric light source parts, etc.
Molybdenum bar
1, Width×Length: (2.0-100.0mm)×(2.0-100.0mm)
2, High: 50-2000mm
3, Purity>=99.95%, 99.98% can also be achieved if special demanded.
4, Surface: Sintering surface, Forged surface, Ground surface
5, Grade: Mo-1, Mo-2, Mo-4
6, Applications: The color of surface of the Molybdenum bar is silver-grey, and mainly used in drawing thin Molybdenum wire, Molybdenum electrode and steel-making additives.
Molybdenum disc
Molybdenum disc has similar thermal expansion to silicon. They are widely used as contact materials in silicon controlled rectifier’s diodes, transistors and thyristors (GTO’S).
Molybdenum crucible
The finished molybdenum crucible is made by rolled high temperature molybdenum plate with the excellent characters of strength and high temperature resistance. It’s orderly and tidily profiled and well welded in order to ensure the boat having a best lifetime under the condition of high temperature and stress.
Molybdenum electrode material
well corrosion resistance and difficult to stain glass, these high pure molybdenum electrodes have been widely used in many fields such as daily-use glass, optical glass, insulation material and glass fiber, and received good reputes.
Molybdenum wire
The molybdenum wire is principally used in the high-temperature field of molybdenum furnace and radio tube outlets, also in thinning the molybdenum filament, and the molybdenum rod in heating materials for high-temperature furnace, and side-bracket/bracket/outlets wire for heating materials.
Molybdenum pins
Molybdenum pins are used for manufacturing halogen automotive lamps, as sealed lead-wire through hard-glass. The molybdenum pins is doped molybdenum wires. The arc-height of a wire sample of 200mm length, located on a glass plate, can be not greater relative to the imaginary string than 20mm.
Molybdenum screws
The molybdenum screws are made from high-purity material. Based on the special feature, this product is mainly put into manufacturing machine, the chemical machine equipment and the electrical parts use.
Molybdenum parts
Various specifications and shapes of molybdenum special parts can be produced according to the requests of customers, such as molybdenum crucibles, molybdenum mandrels, molybdenum rods, molybdenum boats, molybdenum pots, molybdenum tubes, molybdenum headpieces, molybdenum electrodes/sheets and molybdenum boxes.
Molybdenum alloys
Four main classes of commercial molybdenum-base alloys exist. The most common of the carbide-strengthened alloys is known as TZM. Other alloys in this class include TZC (1.2% titanium, 0.3% zirconium, 0.1% carbon), MHC (1.2% hafnium, 0.05% carbon), and ZHM (1.2% hafnium, 0.4% zirconium, 0.12% carbon).
TZM
Molybdenum's prime alloy is TZM. This alloy contains 99.2% min. to 99.5% max. of Mo, 0.50% Ti and 0.08% Zr with a trace of C for carbide formations. TZM offers twice the strength of pure molybdenum at temperatures over 1300'C. The recrystallization temperature of TZM is approximately 250'C higher than molybdenum and it offers better weldability.
Molybdenum rhenium alloy
Molybdenum-Rhenium, commonly known as Moly-Rhenium (Mo-Re), is used extensively in industries as diverse as medicine, defense, pure research and production welding. Thanks to its excellent thermal and mechanical properties, this material is a less costly alternative to pure rhenium.
Molybdenum spraying wire
Molybdenum spraying wire is used as a thin coating on the surface of automobile components subjected to wear, such as piston rings, gearbox synchromesh parts, selector forks, etc. It is also sprayed onto machine parts such as bearing for repair purposes.
Molybdenum tungsten alloy
As the Mo-30W alloy has better strength, hardness and corrosion resistance than that of pure molybdenum it is widely used in the aerospace, metallurgy and other departments. The most common compositions between molybdenum and tungsten are 30% tungsten (Mo-30W), 5% rhenium (Mo-5Re), 41% rhenium (Mo-41Re), and 47.5% rhenium (Mo-50Re).
